Tiling. We are specialists in the tiling field rather than a multi-trade outfit, so we take on the walls, the floors, the mosaics, the wet-room falls and the tanking — and we work alongside your plumber and electrician rather than pretending to be them. On plenty of jobs that is exactly what people want: a tiler who is only thinking about the tiling.

Natural stone, porcelain, ceramic and marble, from small mosaic sheets up to large-format slabs. They all behave differently — stone is porous and wants sealing, marble marks if you clean it with the wrong thing, large porcelain needs a flatter substrate and a levelling system, mosaic needs a perfect background because the sheet follows whatever is underneath it. Part of the quote is telling you what your chosen tile will actually be like to live with.

Yes — wet-room installation is one of the main things we do. It is two jobs in one: forming the falls so the water actually goes where it is meant to, and tanking so that if a grout line ever lets water past it meets a membrane rather than a plasterboard sandwich. Getting a floor to drain properly while the tile pattern still reads as straight and level is the part that takes the experience.

Where a tiled surface turns an external corner, you can either cover the join with a metal or plastic trim, or you can cut both tiles back to 45 degrees so the glazed faces meet in a clean line with no trim at all. The second is slower and less forgiving, and it is why a mitred return looks like stone and a trimmed one looks like a tiling job. We do it where the detail deserves it and we will tell you honestly when a trim is the sensible answer.

Yes — swimming pool tile installation is part of what we do. Pools are their own discipline: continuously wet, chemically treated, and moving slightly with temperature, so the adhesive, the grout and the movement joints all get specified differently from a bathroom. There are a lot of different kinds of project in this category, which is exactly why we discuss every detail before starting.

Tile interior design is a speciality here, and we offer it at a competitive rate without dropping the quality of the finish. That means working out the format, the bond, the grout colour and the edge details for the room you actually have, rather than the showroom one. We also have an in-house heritage interior design specialist for wider schemes — mood boards, scale drawings, the whole room rather than just its surfaces.

More than the room measures. A straight bond might want ten per cent over; a diagonal herringbone can want twenty or more, because every perimeter cut is angled and rarely gives you a second usable piece. It depends on the room, the format and the prep, and we would rather give you a real date once we have seen it than a number here that turns out to be wrong for your job. What is true everywhere is that adhesive and grout have curing times that cannot be shortened — a floor tiled on Friday afternoon should not be walked on Friday evening.
